HeartLine’s dinner event will recognize and thank community leaders who have shown outstanding leadership in addressing community needs.  Festival of Hope increases community awareness of HeartLine’s services and raises funds to sustain these services.

2010 Audrey Hatley Award

HeartLine is proud to recognize a school district that has enhanced the quality of health and safety education by incorporating a suicide prevention/awareness, mental health, depression screening, substance abuse, school violence, or other health and safety-related program into their school year.  Festival of Hope celebrates the power hope brings to people through HeartLine’s programs, while recognizing the efforts of community leaders and schools who improve quality of life in Central Oklahoma.

HeartLine’s youth suicide prevention program, Healthy Education for Life (HELP) is reaching thousands of teens and making a difference to detect the warning signs of suicide and self-harm in order to save lives. Students are touched by the story of Audrey Hatley, a fourteen-year-old girl who completed suicide. Audrey’s mother speaks in the HELP video-based presentation about the loss of her daughter, the friend who noticed the warning signs, and implores youth to get help for their friends who may be depressed or suicidal.

The 2010 Audrey Hatley Award will be recieved by Emerson High School in Oklahoma City!
