About The Volunteer Center of Central Oklahomavolunteer_center_hi_res.jpg

Volunteering is an activity for all ages and it can involve as much, or as little time as you choose. Volunteering means different things to different people. It involves giving of your time, your skills, or your resources. It is giving of yourself in any capacity that you can, for whatever length of time that you can give. Some people volunteer for a few hours a week, while others make a career of it. Whether you choose to volunteer through a formal program or informally in your community, volunteering can add greater meaning to your life.  For more information, visit volunteerok.org.

For Volunteers:

The Volunteer Center of Central Oklahoma matches potential volunteers with opportunities in the Central Oklahoma area. Our partnership with the Points of Light Foundation and the Volunteer Center National Network is essential in helping the Volunteer Center in its ongoing effort to connect volunteers in our community with current volunteer opportunities. The Volunteer Center National Network's 1-800-volunteer.org website features a searchable online database with listings of local volunteer opportunities.  This database makes it easy for adults, youth and families to find the perfect volunteer opportunity. The Volunteer Center also provides volunteer management training and consultation for program managers for local nonprofit, corporate, and government organizations.

For Agencies:

Nonprofit, School or Governmental agencies serving the following communities in Central Oklahoma are encouraged to register your volunteer opportunities. For-profit organizations, such as retirement communities and hospice organizations, are also eligible to post opportunities that directly benefit their clients. The Volunteer Center will be happy to assist you in placing your opportunities online.  Call to see if you are already registered, or visit www.1-800-volunteer.org

Volunteering offers tremendous rewards - both to the volunteer and to those we help. By volunteering, you not only improve yourself, you also make a difference in your local community and the world. Make a difference -- call The Volunteer Center today!
