About the HeartLine AmeriCorps VISTA Project
HeartLine is seeking candidates for the following positions:
Resource Data Support Coordinator (1)- Help ensure the accuracy and comprehensive nature of HeartLine's Information and Referral System within the nine county service area. Work with resources available to the service area to locate programs/services offered to community members. Assist with data entry into the database which will be used by call specialists and volunteers to help assist community members with personal needs. Effective written and verbal communication skills, intermediate to advanced computer skills, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, dependability and adaptability required. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, ability to set goals/action plans and meet deadlines.
Volunteer Center Resource Coordinator - Assist in developing an effective linkage between volunteers and community needs on both an ongoing and emergency basis. Develop effective tools and methods of recruitment of volunteers, collaborate with community groups, develop knowledge of volunteerism trends and best practices in volunteer management to serve as a resource to organizations that utilize volunteers. Serve as a vital member of HeartLine's Disaster Response Team by helping to develop disaster plans. Effective written and verbal communication skills, intermediate to advanced computer skills, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, dependability and adaptability required. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, ability to set goals/action plans and meet deadlines.

All selected VISTA volunteers will be required to attend training out-of-state prior to their service at HeartLine; all expenses will be covered. HeartLine requires a criminal background check prior to service. Volunteers are required to have reliable transportation, and HeartLine does reimburse mileage for VISTA volunteers.

AmeriCorps VISTA is open to U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents age 18 and
older. Upon successful completion of their service, members receive either an
AmeriCorps Education Award of $4,725 to pay for college, graduate school, or to pay
back qualified student loans, or a $1,200 stipend. During their service, members receive
a living allowance, as well as health care, childcare, training, relocation expenses, and
liability insurance.
